Winter is round the corner so it’s time to start thinking about keeping warm on those long wintery days. One way to cheer yourself up is by buying some new, brightly coloured jumpers to keep you snug.

Alpaca wool is brilliant for making sweaters with. It’s a very light, hollow fibre with really good insulation qualities making them great for laying with other items of clothing.

Alpacas come from South America are related to Llamas. They can survive in may climates and over 15,000 are currently happily residing in the UK.

In Inca times Alpaca wool was used for royal garments as was known as the ‘Fibre of the Gods’.
